Requirements

  • 4–8 years of experience in project management, investigations, or enforcement-related roles

  • Experience coordinating cross-border stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and reporting skills

  • Ability to work with investigation data and analytical tools

  • High level of confidentiality and accountability

  • Fluent English and Mandarin; French is a plus

Senior M&A Lawyer – Shanghai | Cross-Border Mid-Cap Deals 🚨


We are working with a French-founded law firm in Shanghai with a Paris office, advising European and Chinese clients on mid-cap cross-border M&A and corporate transactions.

The firm

Boutique Franco-Chinese practice focused on high-quality advisory work for established international clients investing between Europe and China. The team operates in a lean, execution-driven model with direct partner access and a strong “one-team” culture across Shanghai and Paris.

The team

Small, international Franco-Chinese group (partners + senior lawyers), working closely across jurisdictions. The environment is structured, hands-on, and significantly less pressure-driven than large international or PRC firms, with a strong emphasis on technical excellence and deal execution.

The role

Senior Transactional Lawyer (M&A) – Shanghai
You will focus on mid-cap cross-border transactions, acting on behalf of European and Chinese corporates. The role is centered on execution, structuring, negotiation, due diligence, and drafting, working directly with senior decision-makers on both sides of the deal.

Requirements
  • 6–7+ years’ experience in M&A / transactional work
  • Strong background in complex corporate / mid-cap deals
  • Qualified to practice law in China
  • Experience with international or cross-border transactions strongly preferred
  • Exposure to top-tier transactional teams (international firms or leading PRC firms)
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Hands-on deal execution capability (DD, structuring, negotiation, drafting)
  • Advisory mindset (non-litigation)
  • Real estate–focused profiles will not be considered
